Discord Realtime Chat

Travis County ARES uses Discord, a free voice, video, and text chat platform, to stay connected and organized during both daily operations and emergency activations. Originally built for gamers, Discord has evolved into a powerful tool for communities like ours to collaborate in real time. With channels for specific topics, the ability to share files, and support for both mobile and desktop devices, Discord helps us maintain efficient communication no matter where we are.

We use Discord to share real-time notices, coordinate responses, conduct training discussions, and keep our members informed. Whether it’s a severe weather event or a planned public service activation, having a centralized communication hub helps us respond faster and stay more connected. If you’re a Travis County ARES member or interested in joining, we encourage you to hop on our Discord server and become part of the conversation.
