Code plugs for ham radio refers to a configuration file that contains all the necessary settings to program a digital radio. This includes frequencies, talkgroups, channel names, repeater settings, and other options that allow the radio to communicate on specific networks or systems.
Under Construction
These code plugs are still being worked on.
Standard Code Plugs
TCARES Code Plug
This is the standard TCARES template that will work with a Part 97 (i.e. Ham Radio), it is setup for TCARES and the surrounding counties.
Advanced Code Plugs
The following are advanced code plugs that require special radios to use. Only use these if you know what you are doing. Using these outside of emergencies is a violation of your FCC License, and you can end up with very large fines, revocation of your Ham license, or potentially criminal charges.
NIFOG (VHF/UHF) + TCARES Code Plug
This is an advanced codeplug, and it contains TCARES and surrounding counties frequencies, plus VHF/UHF NIFOG frequencies. You will need a part 90 radio to run this. Suggested Radio is the Anytone AT-D168UV (Unlocked)
Tait TP9900 Multi-frequency
We also have a code plug for the Tait Communications TP9900 radio, it contains ALL (VHF/UHF/700/800/P25) frequencies for TCARES and NIFOG. Please reach out to Chris KJ5DJC for this code plug. There is a very stringent check before this code plug will be sent. Ham license holders can purchase these radios via North Georgia Communications (ask for Ken).
